THE SOUND MOVEMENT

Formed in 2002, an atmospheric post-punk dream pop band by Andrew Day (Nightswimmer, Non-Intentional Lifeform) and Kat Johnston. The band evolved over many lineups revolving around the core of Day and Johnston and were based between 2004-2012 in Melbourne (AU) Tokyo (JPN) Manchester (UK) and London (UK). They released their debut “ichi go ichi e” on Truck Records Oxford UK in 2006.

“With pulsating harmonics, glass-cutter riffs, motorik rhythms and a white-hot whirlwind heart, ‘The Last Time’ flows and crashes like an ocean conducted by Jason Pierce – The Sound Movement are the Bruce Lee of pop; refusing form, they adapt, build and grow – like water. Empty your mind.”
– Peter Guy Liverpool Echo (UK)

“…the harmonic dazzle reminds me of what I still love about Blue Oyster Cult’s retrofitting the Byrds on “Don’t Fear the Reaper….”
– Jack Rabid (NYC)
